The One who Loves

To the one who needs this most,
To the one who's heart needs rest.
To the one who's broken ended,
To the one with the withered breast.

This is my letter to you,
Whose soul has lost its flight.
You sparrow sprained from spring
And left without a fight.

In my hand would I hold
The broken part of you.
And would I sing to it a song
To sooth the rhythms blue.

And could I dip your sorrow
Into the purest snow,
I'd freeze it until crystallized
A delicate beauty to glow.

With words could I conjure
The empty inside the hate
So that nothing gives to something
Rather than evil take the bait.

But to my lonely sparrow
So lost without a flight,
I too am trapped inside
And cannot kiss your plight.

So I sent a message yonder
To the one who's always there.
To the one who's might is stronger,
To the one who always cares.

And He will hold your heart for me
Because I cannot dare.
He will assuage your wretchedness
That you'll delight within his stare.

Myself and I are twisted
With anguish for your plot.
And useless feelings call to try
Our patience with the lot.

To the one who's heart's afflicted
To the sparrow in need of doves.
This letter's point inscribed is said:
Take faith in the One who Loves.
